Keep Birds, Deer, & Pest Out of Your Garden

The Scare Dancer® is the original inflatable scarecrow that helps keep birds, deer, and nuisance animals away using constant, unpredictable motion.

Unlike static scarecrows or fake predators, its moving design creates a presence animals instinctively avoid, making it effective for gardens, crops, orchards, and outdoor spaces.

A simple, low-maintenance way to protect your property without chemicals or noise devices.

How to Keep Birds Away From Your Garden

Birds can quickly damage gardens, fruit trees, and crops—especially when they get used to traditional scare tactics. Static scarecrows, fake owls, and netting often lose effectiveness over time.

The Scare Dancer® solves this by creating constant, unpredictable movement. This motion mimics a human presence, making it one of the most effective ways to keep birds away from gardens, raised beds, and small farms.

How Can The Scare Dancer® Help You?

  • Shoo, Crows! Get Outta Here!

The Scare Dancer® inflatable scarecrow helps keep crows away with lifelike movement, bold colors, and unpredictable motion that mimics a human presence.

  • No Trash Pandas Allowed!

The constant dancing action of The Scare Dancer® makes your yard feel unsafe and uncomfortable to raccoons, helping deter them from rummaging through gardens, trash, or other tempting spots.

  • Keep Scurrying Squirrels!

Small animals like squirrels are wary of what appears to be human activity or sudden motion. Having a Scare Dancer® in your yard or garden makes the area feel unsafe and uncomfortable for them.

  • No Hooves In My Garden!

Deer instinctively avoid what appears to be sudden human activity or unexpected movement. A Scare Dancer® makes your space feel less safe and inviting, encouraging them to move on.

Deer & Pest Deterrent for Crops and Property

In addition to birds, the Scare Dancer® helps deter deer, raccoons, squirrels, and other nuisance animals that damage crops and landscaping.

Its tall, moving design creates a visual signal animals instinctively avoid, helping protect vegetables, fruit trees, and outdoor spaces with minimal setup.

Why Moving Scarecrows Work Better

Normal scarecrows would work great... if they only had a brain. The truth is that all other pest deterrent solutions on the market do not work in the long run because they fail to address the one thing that birds and animals fear the most... movement. Not just any movement, but life-like movement. Animals will always be frightened by mankind, and while this is not human, it's the next best thing. That's why we call it

The first scarecrow with brains.™

Scare Dancer® Frequently Asked Questions

To keep deer out of your yard, use a combination of motion, visual, and noise-based deterrents. Devices like the Scare Dancer® create an unpredictable environment that makes deer feel unsafe, helping prevent them from entering and feeding.

Yes, many deer deterrents are effective at night, especially motion-based or reflective deterrents that react to movement or light such as our Plot Protector Pro

The best time to install a deer deterrent is before deer begin feeding in your area, typically early spring or before planting season. Preventing deer from establishing habits is much easier than breaking them.

Place deer deterrents near entry points, garden edges, and areas where deer are feeding. The Scare Dancer® should be positioned in a visible, open area so deer can clearly see its movement from multiple angles.

To stop deer from eating flowers, place a deterrent like the Scare Dancer® near garden beds, landscaping, or feeding areas. Many customers use it specifically to protect flowers, shrubs, and crops—especially during peak feeding seasons like fall and winter.

To keep deer out of your yard naturally, use a combination of visual, noise, and motion-based deterrents. Products like our Scare Dancer® motion devices or visual scare tools help create an environment that feels unsafe for deer, encouraging them to stay away.

Position the Scare Dancer® in open, highly visible areas such as yards, gardens, farms, or near food sources. Visibility and movement are critical—elevating the unit slightly can improve performance.

For best results:

  • Place it in a visible, open area
  • Move it occasionally to prevent pest adaptation
  • Use a timer or motion sensor for unpredictable operation
  • Elevate the unit using drain and sewer pipe if needed for better visibility

The blower unit will last several years under normal use. The inflatable attachments typically last 1–2 seasons depending on weather exposure and usage intensity.

The Scare Dancer® is built for outdoor use and features UL-listed, outdoor-rated blowers. However, electrical components should never be exposed to standing water. Always use a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) for safety.

Battery operation is available only on select models. Other versions require a power source.

The Scare Dancer® is effective for deterring deer, geese and birds such as crows, pigeons, and starlings, as well as some nuisance wildlife. Results may vary depending on the species and conditions.

Coverage depends on the type of pest and your environment. In open areas, one unit can cover a large space, but for best results, placement and testing in your specific location will determine optimal coverage.

Most pests do not get used to it due to its continuous movement. However, for maximum effectiveness, it’s recommended to occasionally reposition the unit or vary its operation.

Yes, the Scare Dancer® is designed to effectively deter birds, deer, and other nuisance animals using motion and visual disruption. Its unpredictable movement makes pests feel unsafe, encouraging them to leave the area.

Had a major problem with geese roosting and staying in my back yard at the lake !!! Had tried many things to get them to leave without killing them installed this AirCrow and set it on a timer and the geese immediately left and found a new home somewhere else. They were leaving a mess on the sidewalk and yard that we got really sick of walking in ! I’m very impressed with the way it has worked Thank you for this item

This air snake does exactly as it is suppose to do keep birds away. I have tried it all to keep birds away from blueberries. This is the only product satisfactory. Netting, noisemakers (neighbors hated me as did my wife) Run several of these and it’s even better.

It has absolutely kept the birds out of our: cherries, plums, peaches and nectarines! The poor snake is almost threadbare...I'll need some new ones for next season for sure!!

We feed a couple of outdoor cats on our patio and the birds would of course come and eat the cat's food, this blower keeps them 75 feet away.

Looks like I have won my battle with the squirrels. This will be the first year we will actually get pecans off our pecan tree. The squirrels won't even venture near the tree when the Air Crow is on. Sorry squirrels, try the neighbors tree, they don't have an air crow.
